My wife and I have Google maps location sharing turned on all the time. It's not stepping because we agreed to it. Last night I got home from a motorcycle ride and the garage door opened as I pulled up because my wife knew I was coming

I thought vs code ran natively as a Windows app and just used a remote connection to wsl to do file management and run cli commands ? I don't think vs code is running inside the wsl environment directly.

I agree. It's not wise to encode business rules into the database. However, there are certain kinds of constraints that are still valid, specifically if they are data structure constraints (like a value must be >= 0).

For some reason these days I just expect "support" for large tech companies to mean a page of FAQs or maybe a chatbot. Maybe it's just all the bad press about bad support experiences.

I'm curious about iPhones but not enough to actually switch. Android phones suck in two areas: performance and upgrades. The fastest Android SoC is as fast as the A12, a three year old chip. Android phones are lucky to get 1 major vers

From other comments it sounds like a free developer account expires builds after a few days. Otherwise you have to pay $100/yr for the privilege. That's a lot of money to run an open source emulator.

In what way are they different? Hardware wise, the iPhone has a touchscreen and a cellular radio, some additional sensors and no keyboard. At the center of each is a CPU, GPU, and storage. Software is the primary differentiator.

Side loading doesn't magically give apps access to APIs that don't exist. The operating system controls privacy, not the app store.

I got thrown into an existing application. The best way to learn React was really just to work inside an existing code base so you can see existing patterns.

As a software engineer, one the reasons I like to write tests is because it forces me to think about everything that could go wrong. Once I write tests for all the things that could go wrong and verify the correct behavior, I feel a lot bet
