> Github will render org-mode documents now, so there's that. Is that actually working now, or just mostly kind of working? Last time I tried (maybe one year ago), I had so many issues that I just gave up and reverted to markdown.

Classic MacOS had Macintosh Common Lisp. Even today, it’s the most pleasant, elegant and friendly programming environment I’ve ever used.

> Stockfish argues that ChessBase isn’t compliant because they refuse to release the weights. No. The first license violation was that ChessBase released FF2 without source code for their modified Stockfish, and without the GPL license.

I’ve been living in France for the last year. What I don’t understand is how you can be productive with those very long lunch breaks that are common here. If I have a break longer than about 30 minutes, I lose all focus and momentum. Fortun

I can talk much faster than I can type, but I have much higher standards for precision and language quality when writing. When I write in natural language, I almost always carefully read through my message once or twice before sending. I do

`Math/pow` is not a function. If it were, you would be able to do things like this: (map (partial Math/pow 2) [0 1 2 3])

I’m 46 and have never been in a fist fight. Neither have most of my friends of similar age, as far as I know. I’ve lived in Norway for most of my life. Based on what I read in Norwegian news (I no longer live there myself), it seems that fi

I started using Nim recently and have been very impressed. It feels like a better Rust than Rust, and a better Go than Go. Why doesn’t Nim get more attention?

I’ve never used (nor even heard about) JBuilder, but Macintosh Common Lisp back in the 1990s was (at least to me) far more user friendly and fun to use than IntelliJ today. It even felt a lot faster, despite running on hardware from the pre

For what it’s worth, John Watson, in his book Modern Chess Strategy , lists the Q+N > Q+B thing as a belief that used to be common in the past, but is proven wrong by modern practice. I’m not nearly strong enough to have an opinion on t

The King's Indian as a way to avoid theoretical preparation? Seriously? That's one of the most difficult and theory heavy openings in all of chess. I abandoned it because it was just too much work.

How about iOS? I'd love to give Zig a try, but I need to be able to build static libraries for both iOS and Android.

Regular Mac users _used to_ care. For many years, one of the defining characteristics of Macs was the high quality native apps, all with consistent look, feel and behavior. Mac users would refuse to use apps that weren't sufficiently M

I think you got this backwards. Common Lisp does have `first` and `rest` as synonyms for `car` and `cdr`. As far as I know, Scheme does not. I believe you have to use `car` and `cdr` there (unless, of course, you define your own synonyms).
