I said "What..?" not because I didn't recognize the joke, but because nowhere did I bring up "security/privacy." My initial comment was stating that the blog post should clarify that these changes were not comi

Yeesh. You guys just went from restoring my faith a bit a few months ago to this possibility? I’m sorry, but please get a grip here, it’s tiring being on this rollercoaster.

Wow the blog host reads poorly then, when I read “self-managed” I assumed managed by the customer, not Hosted Gitlab. You might want to clarify that in the post..

I wonder if part of that is that a lot of flagships seem to have unlockable boot loafers now, with a force wipe to do so. Does that have a measurable impact on the number of people trying?

It’s too late now, I already wiped the old backup and reassigned the license. I didn’t feel like wanting to waste the time much further after past experiences with support and what I read here.

It's completely broken here as well, which was really frustrating. I already wasted 117 days of a yearly subscription on one machine because it ran Catalina Beta (which was my fault, I needed a test machine, and I ate the time lost wit

It wouldn’t be very comfortable for either party, honestly. So I’d have to wonder if anybody small would ever try to enforce it.

I guess who/how defines what “significant value” is. For example: for some having it automatically spun up and maintained is significant to them.

The scenario described only occurs if they’re using host names for their upstreams, and that hostname is no longer resolvable. It results in an error during config parsing, preventing reloads and fresh starts. Moral of the story: don’t use

I think that's because Firefox falls back to system resolver if something funky happens. I'm using it strictly over DoH and it isn't working for me still.

You're already linking against far larger libraries that you probably don't understand completely anyway! For example, glibc... So I don't think this is a valid excuse against the "HTTPS Everywhere" initiative.

My ISP’s DNS servers take longer both in round trip and total resolution time compared to both 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8... and I have both Comcast and AT&T in an urban area. While this might have been true in the past, that is definitely no
