Jeez, I was certain at this point he would never retract his articles. I feel like it's too little too late, imo, though.

We'll see, he's got his money invested in a lot of different areas, so I'm sure he'll be fine if this venture doesn't work for him. One thing I've noticed is that what he does largely is just based on what _he_

That's been his stance, a lot of the information and planning for the "Lab" have been exposed via their live Friday shows (WAN Show). They just got their power supply testing stuff, too. Linus seems to be really hedging on do

They've already stated it's going to have a pretty robust website with good search engine to filter through their test results and blog posts. Then they'll take certain tests and make videos on top of that for the main channe

The funny thing is that’s what is happening, the company is choosing to remove, ignore, and move on from these comments, and yet here we are. And here come the downvotes for stating a fact, yay!

Perhaps, but certainly not from me. For the past 2 years it has been a penny a month bill. My statement was mostly that their processing fees are pennies and they could have just waited a bit.

How weird, we get charged 0.01 all the time, and I laugh thinking that it cost them more to charge us a penny than it would've been to just roll it over.

Which brings me back to my initial post, despite the (mind you, high level engineer)'s opinion, you should probably stay way clear. Support will just not help you in certain situations, and it's not worth the risk. Was surprised t

Eh, this reads weird to me. So third party clients are "ignored," but things like Better Discord which modify the first party client are explicitly not kosher? I'd love for better clarification around this at some point hones

It was so so so much worse before, to be fair. We just see the limited stuff that does get through, for better or for worse.

Yes, you likely will. They have heuristics that will snuff out custom clients, and it's frequent to see people get nabbed by this. It's unfortunate, because from an abuse perspective I understand why (they have issues with spam fr

Then, as a Tailscale customer for business, it'd still be great if you would prioritize the MDM stuff for my personal uses. Or just expose a field in the settings, even if it's behind some hidden menu.

They say this, but then looking at a recent issue they say it's not done in iOS yet, only macOS: https://github.com/tailscale/tailscale/issues/4299

It seems likely to me that they do, they use Authy, and the employees that fell for the attack just supplied the codes they needed. Each time you get in, you can muddle around and figure out what is needed for the next time you send out an

Usually rollouts like that are slow to prevent a flood of people using it at once, and to slowly open the flood gates. Not many people will manually change the flag, either. I don't think the fact that the feature flag was just client

This is a slippery slope, the entire client is open source (besides some GUI bits for macOS/iOS/windows). Do we ban GitLab for more than once per month because it’s also commercial? What about SQLite?

It's worth noting that the Tailscale client is, almost entirely, open source. It's just the iOS/macOS/Windows client code that's closed source (just GUI wrapping it), iirc[0]. The DERP code is also open source. Addi

Agreed, I feel like my limit was 5 bucks. I get good suggestions that help me prevent repetitive patterns but I don’t get any useful “give me code that does X” as advertised.

I guess it depends. If you scale up and down via the API and can’t access the API .. you have a pretty good chance of a down scenario if you had a traffic spike you can’t scale for.
