From what I've seen, you're not the minority. I don't know of anyone that actually is experiencing this problem other than the people complaining online. Also, all reviews I've read have not had this issue, but do mention that a good number

Am I the only one that really enjoys a simple RSS reader like NewFire? Give me a big view of the current article, and every time I hit space bar, move forward to the next unread article.

Of course I did. No way I could go through a gallon of chili before in a reasonable amount of time.

30x agree. I got a crock pot for my dorm. Best decision ever. Being able to come back from classes to have the entire hall smell like delicious chili is only surpassed by eating it.

My experience has been Safari 5 is more stable and snappier than Chrome on OS X. This outweighs the extra JavaScript execution speed in Chrome.

Wake. Shower. Dry off while reading HN, Reddit, Twitter, Emails, RSS feeds, etc. Get dressed. Make myself breakfast & eat it. Brush teeth. Get to work.

I found Engadget's auto-refresh to be very slow. gdgt was much better about it.

Exactly. If you can afford it without an issue, then I'd go for it. A good design can help quite a bit.

This is why RailsCasts is awesome. Every article links to ASCIICasts, which has the exact same content, just written down.

What's the reward of contributing to open source at all? Some personal satisfaction and perhaps a bit of reputation?

This is very true. However, just because college does exist doesn't mean something better can't show up. It seems to me college is the best place to get all of these things in the same place quickly.

It's educational and gives you a place you could meet future co-founders as well. I feel like people look at college from a purely educational perspective, which isn't exactly correct. If you're going to college just for the education, you'

And how many people didn't go to college with aspirations of doing something great and failed? I wasn't really trying to make a point past pointing out that the comment I was replying to didn't really say much.

And Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg both went to college and dropped out. So perhaps college does give some benefit, but the degree isn't necessary.

I don't see this that often at Georgia Tech. The one class where I know someone who asked for extensions, extensions were almost always granted, however, you took a 30% grade deduction for an extra day.

And this is why having the main Ruby gem repository completely open source rocks :)

Best set up if you ask me. Large external monitor, with a keyboard and mouse, but still portable, and only one machine, so I don't have to deal with keeping my code or environment in sync.
