It's more of a comment on your previous response than a question. 1. Older companies tend to have wider footprint of real world use in various contexts thereby having a wider "body of work" for objective analysis and review.

There is a shorter period to prepare for a YC interview than to get into the program after passing the YC interview. Once you get into YC, you can take your time and it is easier to make a case at the embassy. First of all, the US visa spac

FWIW, not one of over >30 people interviewed and rejected from Nigeria stayed back in the US illegally. That includes myself and my co founder who were the first Nigeria based founders to get an interview in 2014. After all, there is a b

Great first steps. Any plans to have one in a "no visa required" location for people from other parts? The struggle and stress attending YC interviews puts on Nigerian founders is - to put it mildly, very unfair. Rwanda, Ethiopia

Hackernews refuses to disappoint. I bet the comments would have be less sceptical if it was about an 11 year old Nigerian cyber fraudster. Sorry lads, positive stuff comes out from my country from time to time. Just don't get too upset

Using Brave browser is how I tackle this.. With it you can selectively disable Javascript, ads, etc on any or all sites you visit.

This is madness (in a good way ;)) If you're in a neutral country where will you be evacuated to? Say for instance, I'm from Syria and I get ill in Venezuela, where will I have the option of being treated?

Anytime I hear about signal, I try to sign up and my verification code never comes. It may be something this simple that is holding it back from adoption.

Nice. Would have been more helpful if specifics were mentioned. E.g what Remittance service was used to pay with your US bank account? What network of telco? What did you use to build your app. PWA? That way people that are well versed wit

Upset? Ha! Why would I be? I just asked what I think to be a sensible question. How will those far away cope? Or how does YC expect them to cope? Considering they are running big businesses full time and cannot miss one of the weekly dinner

Have you considered how this will impact people who are running a business with 50+ employees 10000km and 9hours time zones away from the Bay Area? As it is, it's definitely optimized for US companies who can afford to fly in for the w

I have a feeling that if SnapChat allows sharing Od urls outside of the app (profile, stories etc) it will experience growth. No idea why it isn't that way today.

Where in Nigeria are you? I'm currently in Abuja but I live in Lagos. Let me know if you need any pointers in getting around the startup scene. My details are in my profile.

I'm amazed at how YC has successfully executed the ultimate startup by funding startups. Going from investing 15 in 6 companies to have a one billion dollar fund. I wonder how this will alter the market considering they'll have fi

Is a service really free if it needs the "free user" to make money? We should differentiate between free and non paying. Hackernews is free (to an extent as it supplements a business) while Reddit is not free. You just don't
