I do expect some mangling of the boost header files would need to be done. It’d be awesome if a patch was made and submitted :-)

To quote the article: “C++ support level The compiler will most likely not support a current C++ standard in the near future, but several C++ features are already implemented. The compiler can be switched into C++ mode with the command line

I wonder if some of the boost header-only libraries might work. In particular the shared pointers.

I lived in Delray Beach in Florida. The only choices at the time (2001) were Publix, which was poor, and Crown Liquor, which was where I bought bread. Wholefoods wasn’t good. As a beer drinker, Heineken was the only beer I’d buy (note I liv

Cheddar isn’t orange. You might be thinking of Red Leicester in the UK. Having lived in the US, the cheddar there isn’t the same. I’d offer that I never had good cheese in the US outside of imported stuff.

As a recent contributor to this, it’s a go based server that performs IPC to a FUSE based client.

Interesting. I explain it to non-tech people as like painting a landscape. There are many different ways to do so and I like to build up from low detail to higher detail until there is enough.

I prefer dd-wrt as I can’t be bothered with the complexity of open-wrt. I’m way too lazy. Admittedly, it run on much fewer platforms - meaning Raspberry Pi for me.

I’ve got a Raspberry Pi 4 booting from an old SSD I pulled from my MBP 2011. I run it as a “pi-vpn” tap server and it has Samba installed. Using Tunnelblick on my MBP, I can access my LAN from wherever I am. TimeMachine works too. However,

The vertical blank interrupt was how many games did their screen updates and played music. Those were good days writing demos and crack intros.

It was a technical marvel for the day. The C64 version had more features but was slower. The Sinclair Spectrum version was faster but missed the C64 docking music. There was an Amiga spin-off, as I recall, with filled polygons but it didn’t

If you self sign I don’t think you’ll be asked for permissions. I might be mistaken with a more modern macOS. I’m somewhat behind the times with a 2011 MBP - with SSD and 16gb RAM.

You allocate a large lump of memory up front and supply parts of it on demand. This would be different from an allocator which may allocate smaller amounts of memory as needed. This can help reduce memory fragmentation. It also helps to bou

A custom pool for objects is often a good idea. Pre-allocate “enough” memory and dish them out as appropriate, releasing back to the pool when the reference count goes to zero. You can also use the pool to bound the maximum size you’re able

UML is just the common parlance so that we all understand what’s represented. No need for a specific tool - unless you’re doing PowerPoint slides. Visio is good enough in that case if you have Windows.

Correct. As I like to tell my team, if I’ve typed something I’ve caused a bug. It’s all about risk. I assume I’m not infallible. Writing some unit tests, C++ and mocking in my case, give both the team and myself some confidence I’ve not mad
