This was the approach Anki (which recently shut down) took for robotics. I actually had a similar idea, but whenever I went to the drawing board to make robot toys I could never make anything that was both fun and affordable - using videog

What most people think of when they think of robots though are machines that can adapt to their environments - usually humanoid, but definitely dynamic. Dishwashers and washing machines are essentially mechatronic, and while they have senso

That just brings up another classic robotics joke. A robot is anything that doesn't work well, yet. Once it works, you give it a new name - like dishwasher.

Everybody thinks robots are inevitable until they meet the robots that are supposedly inevitable. There's a fun joke template for robotics. "How many PhD's does it take to do <generic task>?" So now instead of o

FWIW, just watching you interact with your critics on here has done a lot for you to earn my respect. I hope I've been too quick to judge and that OpenAI is able to make me reconsider my stance in the future.

I'd love for Tesla to be transparent about this as well, but the onus is on the driver to understand how their car works. Maybe we need higher standards for getting a driver's license.

If you're referring to Tesla's Autopilot, Tesla's legal stance has always been very clear - you are driving the car and it is your responsibility to pay attention. Now their marketing is very different and confuses people an

As much as I'd love to give OpenAI the benefit of the doubt, I have to agree that they are purposefully being misleading to generate more interest rather than be as straight-forward as possible about their accomplishment. After the co

That's doubtful. I can hear drones buzzing when they're over 500 feet away, and they're loud enough to be annoying (and those aren't carrying payloads so they are significantly lighter). Are they really using hundreds
