Indeed, the price of food delivery apps is insane. I really don’t know where all the money is going. How can they overcharge so much for food and yet still have a loss? In addition to the service fee, delivery fee, and what you pay in tips,

Check out interactive brokers. You have to pay for the market feeds but it’s all available via API. It’s a completely horrible, painful API, but it’s the only way I found to get the data as a hobbyist. There’s a process where you certify th

I understand the concept of making a native app to include using the native UI platforms. What you described is hardly more native than electron, which is basically a web app at heart. Or maybe there needs to be a consensus on terms. Do peo

But then how would they force us to look at ads? How would they keep all their valuable data locked in their walled garden? Sadly I don’t think we’re ever going back to the glory days of open APIs.

For a certain kind of developer who drinks a certain kind of Kool-Aid, sure. Personally I am a lot less productive when I’m forced to work on a React codebase. It’s kind of like using an ORM, it can feel like it makes things easier, but rea

Still, at least this provides another option. Lesser of two evils and all that. Maybe if android was less of a mess this would be a less desirable option, but frankly I’m pretty happy there’s an alternate option regardless of whether it’s b

What is the relation between Linden Lab and Tilia? And is this the same Linden Labs that did Second Life? Is this a rebranding or a new subsidy?

As far as I can tell setting the region doesn’t really work. Even on my USA iPhone with USA region, when I travel internationally the Apple news app refuses to load. Even the widget refuses to load. All based on my current physical location
