Interesting in many ways. In particular, only the executives make what would be considered a competitive senior engineer/architect salary in NYC or SF. Perhaps they 'compensate' with equity?

ugh. I know that popular convention is pulling so, so hard in this direction. But, am I the only one around here who thinks that mashing query strings and document fragments into the same namespace is a Bad Idea?

Good read. I get the message: done is better than perfect. However, in this specific example, it's pretty terrible advice to sign a contract that leaves you in a compromising position just to get a job. You'd probably be better

Fair enough. Of course, I am only drawing on my own anecdotal experience. However, the big companies you mentioned above, Facebook, Google, and Microsoft - I would propose that they are truly exceptional in "big company" culture
