R + ggplot2 was the road I took and taught my students. There are other good tools indeed.

These are excellent suggestions and are taught in science classes. Except for the use of Excel. Yes, Excel is easy, but its flexibility will lead to sloppiness, and drawing figures sucks. Excels statistical functions are also wrong in some

"Draw your figures in Excel" No no no no no no no! Do not draw your figures in Excel. Yes, they can be drawn quicly, but Excel figures suck, are a pain to customize and will introduce bad habits. Learn to draw figures in R using g

If you can't take the lies, leave. It's the only way. I would refrain from making this public because it could get you in a lot of trouble, which isn't worth it.

Is there research on the matter? Can displaying graphic content actually nudge somebody into committing suicide? While this may sound insensitive to the matter, I'd rather opt for having data than join into the generall HN hatred of al

I would think that the impact of this content is overrated. You aren't not prepared for the hardships of life just because you are in an algorithmic filter bubble. People don't kill themselves just because they see graphic content

When hearing about cooking things the one or the other way, I always wonder if the difference in taste is significant. If you'd do a double-blind study, would you see (taste?) a significant difference?

Probably depends on the country. In Germany, the student debt is zero in most cases, except if you received student support (Bafög). Even with Bafög, it's not a lot of debt.
