There are high-end brands that spec products to a high standard and have them made (to that standard) in China. But I agree, GP is confusing high-price with high-end. That said, thermometry is pretty easy and well understood and you don

Aaah.. ok. And Charm Crush with the weird branding is the one that took/forked it creating the drama and maybe isn't trustworthy.

Shipped in surely, everything else would need to be anyway. The flushing toilets etc. mentioned as a challenge probably use a rainwater collection system or perhaps seawater (I'm not sure if the latter's done, desalination probabl

I would love it if Apple just fully embraced Asahi, dedicated resources to it. Imagine 'you can now run either macOS or Linux on your Mac, or both, your choice' - not an an Apple subsystem for Linux, actual Linux, and all peripher

I agree with that - 'back to school sale' sounds a lot better than 'end of line clearance'.

I get 'unable to connect' in Firefox Android for this and many little blogs on HN lately, idk what's going on. Cloudflare blocking me (but not for all sites)? Geo-restriction (UK)?

I don't know if 'the web' in general is fair, here the obvious comparison is Jira, which is dog slow & clunky.

From the description it seems even the larger 120b model can run decently on a 64GB+ (Arm) Macbook? Anyone tried already? > Best with ≥60GB VRAM or unified memory https://cookbook.openai.com/articles/gpt-oss/run

Thanks, I'm slack on that because I can't type it! (I also am often unsure which is correct, since as you no doubt know it's so common to drop the चंद्र and write हूं for example where it's properly हूँ )

That seems like a very different take on life than GP describes, that just happens to use the same analogy on the surface.

I'm not sure if I don't understand, or completely disagree, but if you look anywhere 'digital' like Reddit for example, a lot of Hindi is written in Latin script. WhatsApp too in private communication, where people don&#

You realise that testimonial is saying your pricing policy sucks, but after wasting their time on sales calls with you, trusted you more with it than the also sucky competition?

I don't think GP does either, other than 'self-perjorative'. At least that's how I see it - a sort of semi-self-deprecating acknowledgement that the speaker is not 'a normie' (whatever that means, really).

I am joking with the terminology, but I don't believe B.S.'s claim that they were able to do human language learning without 'labelling'. It's a valid way to learn a second language in the same script, see Lingua La

Love this idea for 2-10 person orgs, but it really doesn't scale. I suppose you could do something similar with local sub-org/2-pizza team, but bit of a different vibe, and then if there is a #topic channel would your thought on t

Yeah, if there aren't cones around something like this it's more likely that it's because the previous group out of the pub wandered off with them on their heads and left them as hats on statues on their way home, imo.
