AFAIK SQLAlchemy 2.0 (coming soon?) will use a new system for full typing.

Structured concurrency gives you exceptions that bubble up the stack like a normal program does, and it cancels other tasks along the way so you don't have zombies. Debugging is thusly easier as well since you keep tasks into a scope

Why can't you use a laser with a relatively high power? Should be easier to differentiate that from background and star light? Or something more exotic like sweeping wavelengths.

Many consumer Ryzen motherboards (and all CPU) support unbuffered ECC dram which is a great thing to have in a server. I use a Ryzen 2600 in a consumer tower. It's quiet, low power, and like 1/10 the cost of real server hardware

If I understand correctly, it's not the light reflected off the exoplanet that we detect, it's the slight dimming of the stars light as the exoplanet transitions between the star and our telescope. I'm not sure what this has

Sounds like you need some structured concurrency. Check out Trio or AnyIO. https://trio.readthedocs.io/ It's too bad we got asyncio as the standard library module, though some SC concepts are going to make it into the

It's a number of factors, including the loading of the modules necessary to start python and the standard library. Check out https://github.com/faster-cpython/ideas/issues?q=is%3Aissue+... for some ideas reg

Multiprocessing requires multiple python processes which are expensive with regards to startup time and resource use. Multiple interpreters give you parallelism without so much overhead.

The article makes a mistake in comparing lambda vs operator.add performance. The lambda example is recreating the function each time. $ python -m timeit "(lambda x,y: x + y)(12, 15)" 10000000 loops, best of 3: 0.124 use

The operator module is very old: https://github.com/python/cpython/blob/ea4d3f0804a3aad5afaa6... PEP8 was introduced in 2001: https://www.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0008/

Do you think that the CDC gives guidance based on incentives instead of best health interest? Personally they lost my trust when they told us to not wear masks for some time early in the pandemic.

Do you have a list of features that were promoted from starter to premium or free? We invested a lot of time to evaluate features and decided on starter. Now it's confusing to understand what features we're gaining/losing i

Gitlab didn't make all starter features part of the free tier. Now we're forced to pay for premium without gaining any features relevant for our team. Edit: FYI starter was previously a paid tier.
