Yes, I have tried the nightly at some point, indeed I saw some improvements, but also broken stuff: - scrolling in firefox produced really weird "oscillations" that never really went away unless quitting the application. - youtu

As a user of GP Peak I can testify the UI is almost snappy enough, but once you open up Firefox (or any other app that relies on web) everything slows down considerably, the devices freezes or is extremely slow to respond to input and the b

That's bollocks. I have my own email server on some random Hetzner IP address and have never had email rejected; and do note my domain TLD is .ro which tends to get higher spam scores.

+1 for MobaXterm! Excellent program, includes bash and some other basic linux tools and an X server so you can run forwarded applications via SSH. It doesn't beat running an actual linux distro, but it's the closest thing to it t

I've used centericq/centerim extensively in the past, but switched to finch which works decently and seems more maintained. You could try the beta of Centerim 5, relies on Pidgin's libpurple.

Nice, but I don't see a "download" link. Without the ability to run my own, how can I be sure this will not go the way of the "Google reader"? Especially being a "one man show".

This must be a new low for USA. Unbelievable. Those founding fathers must be twisting in their grave. Yeah, what the kid said was in bad taste, but for crying out loud ...

Genetic manipulation and other enhancements should be accepted as at least a by-product of evolution. After all, it was evolution that gave us the brains capable of it.

Of course, you are right, but for now most of the phones on the planet do not support "modern" browsers or have access to high speed internet. As the other commenter outlined, for these kind of devices Opera is a keyhole to the in

Opera Mini supports a shitload of platforms, offering a bandwidth-saving, smooth (well..), fast browsing experience. What other browser offers this? I'm not much of a Opera fan, but we need to give credit where credit is due.

Opera is still big on mobile, there's still nothing quite like Opera Mini, they should be careful at defending this.

Right, so move from a site that can use the whole width of my frickin wide monitor (nevermind efficiency) to one that doesn't - but it's shiny!

There's also the security factor (that many devs today like to ignore); using shared stuff simplifies it. Maybe packagers don't know best, but neither does this guy.

Containers certainly have their uses, but what I think will happen is hardware will become better and better at virtualisation just as the (K)VM software will become better. LXC is good for stuff like OpenShift (PAAS), but for "VPS&quo

Worth noting Virtualmin and CPanel do support SNI. Also worth noting old versions of software (wget, curl, IE, android etc) do not support it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Server_Name_Indication#No_suppo...
