The difference is that these days the people are surrounded by computers and probably interact with a computer many hours every day, yet they are barely more tech savvy than that first lot who had never seen a computer before. But so it goe

It is a sorta nice story, although I imagine us who actively do participate in gaming communities wont look at it with as much wonder as the writer and the mans parents do, but I'm sort of disturbed by the fact that their son basically

Yeah that's fair. I've been playing some GG Strive recently and compared to how it used to be playing fighting games online, 50/50 you're either against a pleb or Leffen, it's been nice to have somewhat consistent m

Seems the first Street Fighter game with rollback netcode was in 2008, another in 2011.[1] But perhaps the implementation was poor? I'm not a fighting game expert. [1]: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GGPO

People who play phone games wont convert to playing desktop games. My mother-in-law has spent untold amounts of money on candy crush, on her iPhone, has a 10 year old windows desktop and talks shit about her daughter playing videogames game

In my experience, the Linux ports never got any attention from the devs either way. They'll usually have worse performance, not be on the current patch and in at least one case, Binding of Isaac Rebirth, not be compatible with the DLC

It isn't a huge market though. Mac has never been particularly big for gaming, they've always come in very low on the steam hardware survey. Now, post-ARM, it's beat by Linux even.

Except not really with proper E2EE. Go and join a new Signal or WhatsApp group. You'll notice they're empty. As you were not around for a key exchange when the messages were initially sent. Encryption ≠ E2EE.
