The real title of the article is: Privacy Law Update: Colorado Privacy Bill Becomes Law: How Does it Stack Up Against California and Virginia? It is good to see that some states are taking action about privacy.

I happen to like the Harry Potter series. Yes, they are children books. There was a point when I wondered if it was worth reading the next one, but once I started reading it was immediately really fun to read. The movies are also amazing. M

AFAIK speed is only a real issue in the financial sector for very few applications. For most of them the database is the bottle-neck not the programs. Also, security is generally important in this sector. Both C++ and Python do not have a g

This was a complicated operation that had many difficult steps. If any of these steps would not have worked, the entire project would have failed. Just pointing at one of these step as the most important does not show much appreciation of t

The NSA is an agency with a yearly budget of approximately 10 billion dollars. There are not many companies that can match that.

Social engineering can be highly effective. However, from what we know about the NSA, especially from the Snowden leaks, it appears to be mainly a technical agency. It seems likely that the NSA does not use social engineering on a large sca

A security audit is still useful when you have sources to the program. There may still be some intended or just accidental security problems with it. Having the sources makes such an audit a lot easier to do.

A decent article about human like robots, and why they do not live up to our expectations. But in the industry there are several robots that have a good performance, but they don't look humanoid at all.

If you ask a group of people if they are OK with having cameras in their toilets and bedrooms that could be watched by strangers many people would not agree. Many of the current surveillance proposals are trying to something very similar. I

A lot of malware already specifically avoided attacking Russians [0]. But in a some sense they are just like other start-ups, when something fails just try something different. It seems likely that they have enough money to do that. [0] ht

Dinosaurs are only one of the many groups of reptiles that have ever existed. It is normal use in biology to classify species in the same group as the group of their ancestor species. So, whether you like it or not, humans are mammals and p

If you want to be able to read a language you must be familiar with the script that it is written with. Some languages do not even have a notion of letters. In Japanese a basic notion is the Kanji (and there are really many of them). There
