I've had the opportunity to develop with two HoloLens. From a consumer standpoint, it's a wash. You're spending $3,000 device on a device that can't do more than pin UW apps to your walls. There are no killer apps yet. F

I agree wholeheartedly. I have a dualboot setup, Windows mainly for games / Linux for dev and games. KSP is super nice to play. Funny enough, I spend most of my time playing Dwarf Fortress and Factorio.

What happens if you don't have a webcam? Do they just deny you the position? I don't have a webcam or mic on my desktop currently... I guess I'm never going to work for Amazon :/

I love MapD. I got to see a demo of their tech at a meetup at Nvidia's HQ this summer. I thought their graph / chart rendering backend was pretty neat.

Or that they didn't mention cost for performance. They equated 4 Xeon Phi servers to ONE DGX-1. The DGX has a 140k price tag.

Uber is really strapped for engineering talent. Especially when it comes for SRE. Myself and many friends working SRE at various Bay Area companies get consistently hit up for free lunches and interviews. It's really weird considering

That's exactly the issue. If you go into the field of software development thinking that you can just "exploit" your way to the top you'll find yourself falling short. That kind of mentality leads to poor deliverable.

I'm not sure about anyone else but this guy's cocksure tone came off as really arrogant. I applaud him for being able to land a job with little programming experience, but playing that fast and loose isn't a good tactic for a
