I don't think I wrote more than 20 lines of code in Emacs, and all my previous attempts to learn it properly have died off boredom. So, I'm not even the kind to stick to it, but I know some who do and you won't find many of t

You don't really expect to find many Emacs users on a platform where 30% of developers uses Notepad++ though, do you? :) I personally wouldn't.

It's a neat idea, but to me, that's like it. For SW, LLVM serves two-way: 1)target any (supported) arch you like with your language of choice, 2)customize your toolchain to generate native machine code (i.e. GPU shader langauges)

No problem! You've got some great resources there too! :) I had problems running some demos though.

That's impressive. In some synthetic scenes or actual applications? I think careful and elaborate design and scalability can get you a long way, but the thing is, without relaxing some API rules (e.g. rasterization order) which makes a

That's cool! Although I'll take linear code with bunch of matrix-vector products over bunch of branches any day :-) As you may know, where this algorithm of 2D homogeneous rasterization really shines is in how it simplifies the tr

Off-topic but anyone know a way to have Github recalculate these stats for idle projects without needing to re-commit stuff? I have one repo which says 99% Mathematica which is so far from the truth (there is no Mathematica code whatsoever.

I wonder how pilots feel reading stuff like this. It must be tough.. As a mere passenger whose nearest flight will be in ~3 months, I am scared to death.

Great and informative paper, really liked reading it! Their findings on how data errors caused by lowering supply voltage even further, vary within different regions of the chips is super interesting. You know there is a good read ahead whe

Is it really bad in the US or really good in Canada? I have a friend who has moved to Canada from Europe some time ago and he was complaining how it's not so efficient and you need a car eventually.

Why is not there a middle ground between hire-and-fire-quick vs very strong/rigid labor laws that would give more optimized/successful end results for most involved than either of the two extreme points would generate? On one ha

I've watched Friends last year for the first time in my life and it was shocking to me, among other 90s things, how everyone is dating left and right, one after another as if they were in a race or something. I don't know your soc

I chuckle every time I remember that when my dad used to interview secretaries to hire ~20 yrs ago, he'd always ask "Can you use computer?" which sounds like a quite funny question to ask a 20-something years old person nowad

Wow that was a strong read. Granted that they are quite at the opposite ends of 'accidental kill' spectrum, it immediately reminded me one of my favorite movies, In Bruges {SPOILER AHEAD!} where we see a hitman who accidentally

I've switched to DuckDuckGo a while ago but didn't know this feature, thanks! I for some reason had expected a lower quality but it's pretty effective as a search engine so I'm content.

So you used to find online ads interesting/useful and click before? I always thought at least tech literate people don't click on ads at all. I for one don't recall a single time I clicked on an online ad (mostly due to your

Great article though I also have to disagree with the advice that for a beginner learning Vulkan could be a good direction, because Vulkan implementation of anything will require much more code than its OpenGL/D3D11 counterpart which m
