This sounds like a cool one-time solve. Solving high level traditional sudukos is mostly about learning "rules" (like The Phistomefel Ring). I imagine the equivalent in 3d would be too complex for a human to parse.

I theory the incentive is to 1) eventually become a professor and 2) have more say over what projects you get to work on. Both of these aren't real incentives for the bottom 80% of postdocs.

There is no longer any incentive to stay in academia. Professorships are rare and not as lucrative as they once were. Staying in academia means living like a 19 yearold student well into your 40's.

I do search with regex pretty often and as a result have memorized these, but if I was mentoring someone I would never encourage them to memorize it. Start with . and .*, then add additional stuff as you get comfortable

Given you're surfing this forum, you probably work in tech and have expendable income, most people don't. Also there are many ways you could (and maybe already are) spend money to reduce CO2 impact. Electric car, buying solar, etc
