Shuffle around RAW files if you are doing photography. These are 50-150MB files. A lot of them.

(TLDR: if you want to use bleeding edge technology you must use bleeding edge drivers and firmware blobs) We have tested WiFi-7 gear in our lab: from the cheapest TP Omada EAP783 to the latest most expensive Cisco AP+Controller. Our findi

Maybe an idea for the next project: setting up a CICD chain which auto-generates them for releases. Will take a piece of your critics with me.

Sorry my friend - but embedding static PDFs in Git is my opinion an anti-pattern. The KiCad (or EDA) sources should be the single source of truth, with visuals generated/exported locally when needed. If you don't like it.. well it

These CH32 mikrocontrollers are great and dirt cheap. I've build a small DC motor controller with them to control a toy robot: https://github.com/h0lad/MiniSpeedController The bigger ones have PHYs for USB HS, USB

I live close to a hospital and they make a generator test run once a month. That's an ultra deep sinus (~30Hz) that's humming along - you can hear it everywhere within the city. It's was super easy to measure using a Sensirio

We tested Wifi-7 in our lab due to planned migrations. It's a huge quality mess right now. Either MLO doesn't work correctly or the drivers of the Modems (we tested Intel, Mediatek, Qualcomm, etc.) hit the shitter. For my private

XLR with Neutrik Plugs + high quality cables is crazy robust. You can tow a car with it and then use it to work a festival with Tier 1 bands afterwards without any problems. Most likely it will work even better than before. Also differen

Behringer evolved from a "cheap unusable shit" to very solid gear and a company that listens to their users. If you want to enter the market you must beat their stuff price/quality wise. That's not easy in 2025. The enti

Ultra high-speed ADCs are extremely ugly to handle with microcontrollers. That's mostly FPGA territory: toggle its pins, suck the data from the ADC and offer them on a friendly parallel bus for a microcontroller (USBC->Parallel in

But no real competition for on-chip Wifi/BLE around. Only ugly two-chip solutions or hyper exotic stuff with no community.

I played around with the RISC-V from WCH. They are huge step ahead: the upcoming CH32H417 has pretty much all PHYs integrated (!). For 10/100M Ethernet, USB-C 5GBbps and USB HS 480Mbps. That dramatically reduces the components needed

Honestly: no one of the bigger players in the industry pays the prices you see on Digikey/Mouser/Farnell (with the exception maybe for prototyping stuff). Often you have direct delivery contracts with the vendors. That the ADS111

I still have a huge trauma coming from the ESP32 ADC. Why don't they integrate good ADCs? We are waiting for ages now. Non-linear as hell - and evil side effects once you use the calibration curves.

With SBAS 1-2m precision can be done easily in the US and EU. Most of the time enough for any navigational use. Pretty much all GPS/Galileo receivers are able to receive and decode these overlays.
