I like the car analogy for browsers back then: Back when I first started using Chrome (I think in 2008), I used to describe it as a weekend race car with all the seats, upholstery, and HVAC stripped out. Fast, no frills. Firefox, on the oth

I have only crocodile tears for bad employers in this scenario, but in my mind, the main reason behind the 2 week customary notice is it's for your coworkers, not really for who is writing your checks. It can be a real dick move to the

Esther Gokhale's book "8 Steps to a Pain-Free Back" saved my back. I basically learned that I was sitting like an idiot for hours at a time, and walking in a manner that did not distribute my weight efficiently on my back. I

Agreed. That's the sort of rework that I think can be avoided by a good partnership between the PO and the stakeholders in the nascent stages before physical work begins. I guess the reason why this happens is this weird psychological

For large efforts, I've always subscribed to "define waterfall, build agile". If you don't really hammer away up-front on all the possible avenues stakeholders want to explore in an end product and get those fully listed

It's not just the Eastern Bloc - it's not uncommon in the US, particularly among recent college grads who move to a new state, to not get a new driver's license (which costs $), or to avoid getting new license plates on a car

As I've understood things the more I read, the vast majority of mass deportation and mass executions enacted by the USSR and Nazis were largely inspired by the actions taken in the US vs the large native populations. How those two enti
