I'm going to piggy back off of your comment to say that I have no problems working "in the zone" in an open office. I can just ignore what is going around me. And I had HR sitting right behind me (as in 1.5m away) for a while

If you just run something for 3 days every 2 weeks using your numbers that comes out to $432 per month. Just one month! Still not including storage costs etc. So after 6 months you're even. And you can still sell those GPUs in 1/2

This may shock you, but some people prefer doing research to working a normal job and earning lots of money. Those are the types of people that should and will do PhDs (there are unfortunately a lot who think like you and still try and do a

This. I have a feeling most of the people who complain about PhDs are those that started one just because they didn't know what else to do. They're not that intelligent, they don't care that much about doing research. But the

I don't think any of those shows are on the same level as the top tier HBO ones. The only show that I think reaches it is Breaking Bad (AMC). I actually think the best netflix ever did was with Bloodline (S1 only). House of Cards, whil

I was using a 1600X and it worked fine. Using a 1950X and still works fine. I pretty frequently put it under heavy load.

It's really astonishing how many liberals in the west will defend the middle-east's version of Hitler. Go and tell an Iraqi Kurd it would have been better to leave Iraq under Saddam's rule. Also so convenient to absolve any o
