Have you got a Google Maps link to the place? I usually put stars on Google Maps on places I want to visit, and I definitely plan on visiting Japan in the next few years.

Thanks for the resource. I never really paid attention when I took linear algebra, and I've always regretted it since it seems to rear it's head everywhere.

I would use the fuck out of something like this. In fact, I might build it into the desk I want to build one day when I have my own place. Maybe not the whole desk, because as others have pointed out I'd like to have some room to store

I've been terrified of linked structures since I saw a video (I think it was here) from a C++ conference talking about how horrible their performance is.

This kind of worries me. Not because I'm worried about 3D printed guns killing me or other people. If somebody wants to kill other people, they're probably going to do it. This doesn't really make it much easier. What worries

Perhaps that's what they use to teach because those languages are reasonably easy to use from a math/physics point of view, even if they're somewhat limited from a CS point of view. I taught myself to program early on, but fo

Sounds plausible. IANAL, but I know there are similar protections for somebody's likeness. As in, you're not allowed to use somebody's likeness to endorse a product without their consent. I can't see why the same wouldn&

The difference is that in a corporate setting, if you're fired that's the end of it. Fortunately or unfortunately, in an open source setting, if you act like an asshat you can still contribute and discuss and continue to be an ass

Wolfram need to basically adopt the model that Adobe unofficially has ie. don't stress too much about users pirating your software, because they'll become so dependent on it that when they go and use it in industry they'll de

I'm disappointed by this, but I have a feeling that Google is going to make a big gaming play. My money is on a 'game center' type app for Android at IO and that this will have some sort of tie in with Google+. On a different note, I think

Read Cory Doctrow's book Makers. It wraps the possibilities of this sort of thing up in a nice narrative. The point of these is that nobody is really sure what we'll be able to do with them yet. But by lowering the barrier to entry to an af

But why aren't you using your G+ account? Let's be honest. Google+ is almost identical to Facebook. It has equivalent functionality in every respect, and in most respects it improves on that functionality. The only reason you're not using i

This is exactly the sort of false reasoning that causes mass hysteria and general stupidity. It's a bunch of servers that know lots about you. Google then uses these servers to match ads to you. There is no team of Google employees who know

Google are doing this because the reason G+ is floundering is nobody is on there. Forcing people to use it is one way of getting more people on there. If even on in a thousand people stays to look around, that could mean a snowball effect t

I came here just to say this. Why do people in the US continue to ignore the rest of the world? Only in the US does this carrier branded phone bullshit occur. I live in Australia and I'm quite content with my unlocked Galaxy Nexus on my $40

An oldie but goodie. I'll actually bookmark it and tag it correctly this time. I seem to periodically find this site, and then can never remember it when I actually have some spare time and want to find it. Something that I couldn't find on
