ARM puts the number on their website. For a 40nm node, it's 0.028mm^2. That is configuration dependent, but it's a starting point.

I think my only problem with this article is how seemingly easy it is for people to do this. I wish our cops could do proactive things like this on their own more often. This viewpoint brought to you by how many videos I've seen of ant

While I love the esp32, it feels underutilized. I wonder if instead of the hardcoded "randomness" it could traverse a 1-D perlin noise field with a large scale but maybe varying sharpness. That way you can get long stretches of no

I ran into this a few years ago with a cots GNSS product. Their datasheet said it supported 232, 422, maybe 485. But they didn't say how to select any of them and when I probed, it was I think 422. It was certainly 0-3v. Not wanting to

There's a cities skylines YouTuber who agrees with you. He calls it lane math. "2 come off, 2 go on,..." I'm sure there's some reason the engineers do it irl, but it is funny that going with your approach does fix t

Yeah.... I don't care if other people have plaque on their teeth, I can't see it anyway. But if they reek, that's nasty.

My under sink cabinet is a mess. For me, I have no idea if someone is my last tube or just that another one is hiding. This way at least if the different tube is the only one I've found within a reasonable time, there is a high probabi

The paper says they got 760 wh/l which isn't bad. Normal zinc-air is 2.5x that, but these small ones aren't that different to lithium ion. I think that's pretty great.

Caveating a few things: Firefox nightly works pretty much just as well and as stably as the regular build and brings back extensions. Months ago they did something with PDFs that made them ridiculously slow, and nightly for some reason does

I did this for a class on compilers and interpreters where we wrote our own, each week expanding on functionality but keeping the 2 in feature parity. I wrote Python to auto generate test cases. I vaguely recall that the test was if the two

Another good question. I don't super understand a lot of the "I downloaded a software, bought a radio, and look it works". But I do like, for example, things like [1]. The reverse engineering side, the legal hacking side, tha

Ah. I missed that. But you wouldn't put a filter, you'd do what's called digital downconversion or DDC. This is doing the IQ demodulation in software. It's not a phase shift, it's a different type of block.

I learned this from ComputerCraft programming. It's become applicable many times since then, occasionally professionally. But, the ability to tell the terminal when it's starting/done a frame is a lot more powerful IMO.

I understand that. Why do you think this isn't already a good IQ stream? The max2830 has the 90 degree hybrid built in (like every IQ demodulator I've ever seen)

Not sure I understand the I/Q comment. What would the phase shifter do to the signal? Just overlap I on top of Q?

While I share your passion, there's still a front end. The front end vs back end of a cpu core exists as long as the logic for decoding an instruction is separate from that of executing. In an AVR core, the "instruction decode&quo

I'm thinking similarly. But you don't need GameCube controllers to use a wii. I think that's all the dock adds.
