As a bit of a hijack, copy and paste is fucked. But paste without formatting works, which is something like Shift+Ctrl+V. Stupid, but just about usable if desperate.

Then existing 07x numbers would be made 071x numbers, and repeat. But the existing 07x range is effectively 9 digits long, (with a few chunks out of it) so we're probably good for a while. We've not started 072 and barely touched

I think comparing PETA with the RSPCA is a bit of a stretch. PETA are closer to an extreme wing of The Vegan Society. The RSPCA do have issues. Yet they remain important protectors of animal welfare. They also arguably predate our police fo

Yeah. Although there's something to be said for Twilio for straight up SIP too if you've got awkward fucking hardware. The Gigaset N300 is great, but the dialplan options are embarrassingly limited. Twilio offer their own hosted N

UK for sure, dunno about RoW number availability. When you pick a number though, do check that the number supports voice and SMS. Not all do.

There isn't an unlimited package to normal users afaik. But calls are cheap . If you only want a number for a month, thats $1. Leaving $3.25 worth of calls at $0.05 (0.01 incoming, 0.04 back out to your cell) a minute forwarded to a m

Depends. A burner can be for anonymity, but can also be for disposable use. For most legitimate usage cases, like those in the OP, are covered by using Twilio.

Is it actually a problem though? I'm not a high volume consumer of numbers, but I've not had any spam on the handful of numbers I have. The same can't be said for my physical POTS/cellular numbers. Anecdote of one, a

I don't think it really matters what the acronym means. It's a project name, like VLC (which is VideoLAN Client, to save you the trip ;) ) and its known BY the acronym.

Insync that is recommended elsewhere on this thread offer a 15 day trial, then it's 30 USD/GBP/EUR etc. (USD is cheapest of those, but 3200 Yen is even cheaper.) Get the 15 day trial, make another demand that Google refunds.

To oversimplify in a crude way, the idiots who are helped by first line are the people that can't read the support docs and can't write well enough for bots to parse what they need. Tying up more competent and thus more expensive

Boot time and physical size might prove to make it unwieldy, but could you use a Pi Zero in a gadget mode with OTG? You can have it emulate USB HID, so presumably U2F would be workable, and it'll do USB Mass Storage too. Open hardware
