Seems to me sticking your head in the sand, however tempting it might be, would be playing right into the hands of the current administration. Regardless, it's a very bad idea.

I've been a Linux user for about 10 years. The only hardware I've had trouble with after setting up dozens of machines for myself and friends has been Wifi devices from RTLink. They were solvable, but requires an actual recompile

People won't abandon Apple in droves unless the media start trashing them to the same degree they've been praising them. They've effectively given Apple billions in free advertising over the years, so I'd guess it would

I think we're at the point that copyright can no longer be respected, or certainly close to it.

Much like you you could go to some social network other than Facebook. You can but it's inconvenient.

Perhaps you have a Samsung? Some of the changes that vendors make are aggressively stupid, in the name of being different.

A good headphone design makes the parts that wear out replaceable. Bose does this with some of their stuff, as do others, I would guess. It should be considered an important part of the design.

They quite clearly should be distrusted in the current conditions. Electronic voting should go. This greatly reduces the attack surface.

If a lot more people drove manual transmissions, or at least learned that you can slow down by just raising the accelerator a little rather than hitting the brakes, things would be a lot better. It really doesn't seem like a hard thing

I would guess that it's stored and dealt with using a basic "copy on write" strategy. It's functionally a copy, which is all that usually matters. This may have been an oversight.

I can, (and usually do) quite easily get by without Microsoft, Intel, Amazon, and Apple. I'd love it if everyone dumped FaceBook. Google would be more difficult, but not impossible. Part of what keeps these companies going is the inert

In most large corporations and governments, the primary reason for not using open source (especially is software development) is that open source doesn't take purchasing people out for lunches or golf vacations.

Someone that paid for 8 would probably disagree. It's no longer a free upgrade, is it? Perhaps people should switch to LibreOffice. It's really more usable according to most people I've talked to.

Seems to me that Google has a better privacy record than Apple. Both companies get all sorts of data about their users, but Apple has had some serious data breaches.
