I thought the reason was that a virus has no means to reproduce without hijacking some other living thing's facilities with which to replicate itself.

Yeah, I can't really answer that one for you, I don't own any coins and I don't really have a need to (apart from maybe needing to be rich if I had bought some 2 years ago). We're right back where we started, just becaus

Here's one, people want to use bitcoin for transactions, as these blocks of transactions fill up, new hashes are needed for each block. The miners are finding these hashes and facilitating the continued use of the blockchain. I'm

It makes perfect sense if you don't personally own or use Windows. I don't pay Microsoft again to play TitanFall just because their servers are hosted on Azure. I understand we all probably use tools everyday that can be attribute

Possibly licensing? Not sure though, I run my gaming VM at home with hardware passthrough and basically no issues (except fairly slow disk i/o, maybe that is the issue?). I think KVM is simply stronger when it comes to resource managem

So I do think this is a cool idea, though I have found that my phone usually gorges on battery power when it isn't in range of a tower (I'd love to hear the exact reason it would if anyone knows). An "airplane mode" pock

Aren't all of those things only a tiny fraction of our oil usage though? The entire global plastic industry accounts for < 5% of the oil we dig up IIRC. The vast majority is turned in to fuel.

I know this isn't the whole picture, but doesn't a spike in inflation imply some kind of dilution of value? It's not as though the govt would be creating currency to fund this, it was collected from somewhere. Doesn't th

if the DAC only exists between the logic board and the analog jack then there is a good chance it isn't being piped back in to the lightning port. Even then, I really doubt an entire pin on the lightning connector is dedicated to analo

Not familiar with the source from the parent, but the "point" to anything depends on a form of consciousness assigning that definition. There is no point to a water logged ball of rock, orbiting a giant ball of hot gas unless ther

I agree. I developed this habit in highschool but no one else I know seems to have picked it up, interesting to see it discussed here :) I get VERY sleepy whenever I'm on a bus now, even 7 years of car commuting later.

In the video two comments up, they explain that a different kind of TBM is used for waterlogged boring. Bentonite is used to keep pressure on the tunnel face instead of the bored material, the slurry is then separated with a centrifuge and

That is a given. Dark matter isn't really that clean either, it breaks what we know about the standard model and known particles, something that the folks at CERN keep confirming as they break in to new and uncharted areas of what we c

There has been work done toward re-working our current laws to fit observation without dark matter, but I think it just breaks way more stuff than it solves. The new model ends up being a worse fit for pretty much everything else but the ga

Does that change the fact without the NGO craft, people aboard the raft are at greater risk of drowning? All of this just sounds like justification for allowing people to drown. I'm sure there are better ways to prevent people smuggler
