That's an interesting amount, since I assumed things are cheaper in the US. I live in Finland and we got an offer for my house to install an air-to-water heat pump system (with an existing radiator network, which I assume you have too

Having a heat pump transfer the energy to heating water that is then circulated in radiators is becoming quite common in the Nordics, and often used as a replacement for an oil burner. It's more efficient than a regular heat pump that

Yep, I rechecked it and seems Chrome/Fx/Safari all support at least 32k. I replied in another comment I'm considering a checkbox to allow even longer URLs, though, I don't know who would want to paste them for others to

Yep, it is! You can find the sources on GitLab[0]. The compression is done using brotli-wasm[1]. The entry point to the compression is the syncCompress[2] function, which converts the data to UTF-8, adds the needed header bytes, and then co

Nov 2022 it was. Seemed like everyone was having covid, and so was I. The idea came up in a Discord discussion, so I decided to go for it. Later I added the syntax highlighting and file naming. I also added a little extensible header system

Last November I had covid and during that time I wrote a little pastebin that runs in the browser, compresses the paste data with Brotli, and puts it in the URL. It has line numbers, file naming, and syntax highlighting so it's feature

In the case of donations, soliciting donations in any way is illegal in Finland for private persons and companies. That also makes things like YouTube's sponsor button, GitHub Sponsors, etc. nonstarters.

Sure, but if we want to highlight other languages' lack of tail call support, maybe we should showcase that support in those languages that do support it. :)

Interestingly, the post says "JavaScript [...] has tail call issues", but at least the Elixir algorithm is not tail recursive and will blow up with inputs that are too big.

In PostgreSQL a varchar is also a text type column but with an added length check. So it's actually just slower to insert and not more space efficient, as far as I know. So SQLite is not alone in this.

The coin/token lock is used in all stores in Finland, I've never had a problem with it in winter. Sometimes I'm in the store without a token (I never have coins) but there's usually a cart unlocked already, since you can

If you have a sauna in your home (which most Finns do), then you can afford to use it 4-7 times a week even if you're not rich. Though maybe not with the current electricity prices, but earlier it was no problem. I'd say 7 times i

Just a note, you wouldn't say yksi-tuhat, as just tuhat already implies "one". So rather tuhatyhdeksänsataaseitsemänkymmentäviisi or as I'd say it out loud, tuhatyheksänsataaseitkytviis.
