Moto Z cost north of 700 €. I would not call that cheap.

It's a Moto Z2 Play. Previous one was a Moto Z. Both show burn in after a year of use.

Guess we'll see in a year or so. My OLED phone had burn in after a year and I can see the Android status bar when I watch full screen videos.

My Moto Z2 Play showed burn in of the top status bar after a year. My Moto Z did the same. OLED burn in is not a fixed problem.

Isn't that true for "normal" text too? Don't we skim text usually pretty quickly based on how the words look like, instead of reading every letter one by one?

There is a difference, though (not related to the subject matter in GP's post, but related to sandboxing). You can download Slack from the App Store, but you can't give mouse access to viewers when screen sharing unless you downlo

Vivaldi shows domains in punycode by default. I believe this is the only reasonable solution, otherwise browser makers will always be playing catch-up with exploiters.

Android's permission system was overhauled in version 6 so that permissions are now generally asked when they are needed, for a specific type of operation, instead of the big dialog when installing. I personally use several apps where

In most cases, BEAM's (the Erlang VM's) context switches are not big and expensive, though, which is something you get with user space threads.

As a Finn and prolific user of å, ä, ö, and € among other things, Python 3 was a massive improvement. Sure it forces me to choose what to do at the Unicode boundary but Py2 was rife with UnicodeErrors that would pop up at the most inopportu

I don't think a testing method where there is a risk of a lot of innocent people dying is going to be accepted anywhere. I guess that is the dilemma with these situations.

Do you mean getting programming amounts from git repos directly? I consider it too difficult to do sensibly as in commits you may have generated code, copypaste, and also a lot of work may not end up in a commit and so wouldn't show up

Hey, that's a valid opinion. :) No code is ever sent and I would not even want that, but I understand the concern. This code base won't convert easily into a native application, but if you don't mind installing some dependenc

Using HTTP to redirect to HTTPS is fine, but you should augment it with HSTS (to instruct browsers to always go to HTTPS) and HSTS preload (to let browsers know to go for HTTPS even before they visit your site the first time).

That would require an array of 32 bit integers (basically UTF-32). It wastes a lot of space for most characters and doesn't help that much with indexing since user perceived characters can still be composed of many codepoints. Differen
