I've recently started a trial of NixOS on a Framework laptop. It's definitely not ready for a normal person, that's true. I'm working in text files to configure things, and had to debug the GUI not starting after my ini

Yes. Very well put. As one raised in evangelical Christianity, I always see in The Velveteen Rabbit the theme of Love as a means of sanctification through devotion to the ideal, come hell or high water - becoming "Real". It works

Did you misspell "editor with language intelligence?" Because yeah, vim won't beat IntelliJ, but you can get it to be pretty decent with LSP: https://github.com/prabirshrestha/vim-lsp

"Just do it", as described in your post, is a great and productive attitude. It is, however, rare that telling someone else "just do it" gives them that attitude. I have never seen it happen. I have said "just...&qu

Ah, thanks for clarifying. I did indeed misunderstand. grep -o $pattern $filename | wc -l would work in that case, I think. I did have to think for a minute to come up with that version. It was definitely still much faster for me than writi

I think the concern is not that the word _is_ racist in origin, but that people whose lives have been irrevocably altered by racism and slavery may _perceive_ them as such. An idea doesn't have to be true to cause someone suffering.
