I can never understand why people don't host important stuff/stuff they care about themselves. Webhosting and domains are cheap and even someone with little technical knowledge can create a website. There are tons of options to do

PHP is actively being developed with ton of new features added. It has a lively framework landscape with new versions released all the time. You can't get more modern than that.

My answer is always this. If I write a line of code, discover a bug, and fix it right away, it's part of the normal coding process and covered by the hourly/daily rate I've quoted the client. What difference does it make that

I've noticed the same thing. I guess that they've stopped using cookies and are using some kind of "super cookie" that uses the visitors computer environment to create a individual id.
