I think being able to view your wiki from any browser is a positive. I don't need a separate app for my phone, I just access my wiki website and everything works the same.

The same thing is unfortunately happening in the US. I would assume that iphone to iphone communication over imessage also does not go through traditional sms.

I would recommend you give Regolith a try. I was also looking for a "just works" tiling window manager solution and Regolith gives you the best of gnome, and i3.
