Prop 13 absolutely disincentivizes building housing. Other policies can also be bad. But grandma's house isn't being bulldozed to make way for a quadplex because she's insulated from the market. https://www.kqed.or

Prop 13 disincentivizes building housing. Stop calling people evil just because your grandmother isn't the center of their policy concerns.

I like how you didn't say "x is bad" Though I feel that delegating decision-making scales way better

The article says the engineer should go out and find another person to use it in front of them! A quick local build and cursory click through can be okay but should they be doing the above for every contribution?

Yeah I hate this. Speed of delivery is way more important than having a developer spend 80% of their time doing QA. I don't want to pay developers to find a tester, watch them use the new feature using full story/posthog, etc etc.

I disagree. Netflix is a dramatically more polished experience. I'm not even going to touch channel specific libraries like peacock because hbomax/Hulu are already painful enough.

Monopoly on violence doesn't necessarily mean that self defense and defense of property is illegal. The US governments have a monopoly on violence and sanction self defense and defense of property.

I assume the PM doesnt actually use android auto, and one of the devs who does wanted to at least be able to use it personally.

But I need that app in order to access the light/dark mode toggle in the developer settings. Google seems to love killing products/services.
