Imagine how this is going to completely destroy the markets for metals unless they artificially restrict the supply.

I disagree entirely. The hype is based entirely on the fact that I can talk (in text) to a machine and it responds like a human. It might sometimes make up stuff, but so do humans. I therefore don't consider that a significant downside

As an Austrian, I must say that I am amazed that this is even a topic here ... let alone a topic that gathers so many comments. I thoroughly appreciate all the comments and insights. Personally, my only complaint I ever had about the ÖBB wa

Imagine there's no internet and you don't have a dictionary. When you've never observed the Eiffel tower and someone tells you the Eiffel Tower exists, will you tell them that they're wrong? "There's no evidenc

We don't actually know what happened. Too many people tend to declare themselves as the victims with no regard of explaining how they actually behaved towards the others. Cause and Effect. In many cases the people who caused the effect

Simpler is better, though. People's ideas of themselves shouldn't be the new "I'm vegan, btw" and forcing everyone to know and care about your idea of yourself is fucking bullshit, because nobody cares and the to

What do you mean, "smart enough to decompile assembly"? That's not exactly rocket science. Anyone can do that, there's tools for that.

It's really not weird at all. When the mainstream media doesn't report on something, it's forgotten within days. They dictate what most people think and talk about. Pandora papers? Pleasure Island? What was the name of the wo

I am really confused by what people call compilers nowadays. This is now a compiler that takes input text and generates output text, which then gets read by a compiler that takes input text and generates JIT code for execution. This is more

Can you please explain how this counts as evidence for, or as proof and is not just people telling you what you're supposed to believe? You know, just like the "other side" is doing it.

No. Flat out wrong. There is only a small amount of fundamental understanding that needs to be acquired to actually know what your code is actually doing. Knowing how things work fundamentally is what matters the most, as everything else ca

Scientific dissidents exist. The problem is that we live in a world where we're being manipulated into believing that there isn't, or that the dissidents are bad guys. Conspiracy theorists.
