It's not broadband for me, it's monthly data caps. I can stream 4 different netflix shows, on 50Mbps, and blow through 1TB monthly cap in 3 weeks. No point of getting even faster connection.

I view it in terms of opportunity cost. Let's say your kid has 1 hour of productive attention span per week, time of focused learning. You can either teach them your native tongue or something else, like math and science, or better Eng

I'm on iOS 10.2 also. Searching for something like "site:reddit.com casserole" gives a couple of AMP results. Clicking them just shows google loading circle thingy indefinitely, the page never opens.

I'm against AMP simply because it doesn't work with Safari on iOS. In fact, I switched to DuckDuckGo as a default search engine because less accurate search is still better than a list of accurate results that simply don't op

Fair enough. From what I recall, the traffic was going to telemetry servers not time sync. Next time I play with Windows I'll holdon to the capture logs for proof. I think the other side effect from all those regedit hacks was issues w

The only thing I didn't do is to block MS servers in System32\Drivers\etc\hosts file. This is useless in my opinion, MS can always change them or add new ones.

by MrVitaliy 10y ago
That's not true. Install and run wireshark then dial all you want, there will always be traffic every other minute or so to one of Redmond's servers from just idling.

Have you looked at Xclaim offerings? It's ruckus hardware but less enterprisy.
73.
by MrVitaliy 10y ago
I recommend buying a simple Access Point (AP) but with enterprisy components, like xclaim xi-3, and treat it as a stupid radio device while running layer 3 services with DHCP, firewall, etc on a separate device (or a vm) with pfSense. This

Not to be devils advocate, but if I have 75mbps pipe at home and some internet server is on 1mbps, I'll still be buffering because of the server connection not mine. Right?

Really bad customer service and overpriced internet for 90% of their customers, to subsidize a small, selected segment of new "low-income" customers. How much lower can they go as a company?

S2 is at least 2 years old. Whatever battery (1650 mAh) it came with is probably due to be replaced anyway. Just get an extended battery such as Qcell [ http://www.amazon.com/QCell-Samsung-SGH-i777-Extended-Compat... ] (a who

MBAir is best dev laptop I ever had. Its super light, plenty of power and space for most app development and within reach price wise. Also, I suggest you look up Linus's rant about how he loves Mac book air and SSD for kernel development.
