Buttons need to be designed, dash that fits those buttons need to be designed. They already get the touchscreen, adding smaller screen + buttons is more expensive than no buttons + larger screen.

Pretty much the same with me. I checked that macrumors thread weekly if not daily at one point, but after 100 pages you lose all hope. Will switch to Apple Silicon version of 16 when it comes out, but boy does that leave bad taste in mouth.

This is not a solution at all. Post says this only works with lid closed, but most MPB16's will achieve reduction from 20W to 8-9W just by closing the lid, with no settings changes needed. That being said, 8-9W with closed lid is still
