It is really annoying that MLB.TV has gone the route with games on other providers. I don't want to create another account or install some other app on my TV or phone for a few games a season. At least the radio broadcasts still work o

You either print and rescan and crop the edges, or you type it all out yourself. It'd be safest to never put it online at all other than paraphrased summaries. The next safest would be to just type it all out yourself in your own word

I imagine the Supreme Court is an environment where everyone prints everything. Everyone is in their 50s (some in their 70s) and they probably print and annotate everything manually. I imagine there are copies of everything floating around

As a parent of a toddler, I have read plenty of books where gay or lesbian parents are mentioned in the story in passing. In context it's a nice way to acknowledge that different types of families exist without drawing attention to the

I live in Arizona as well, and agree. I'd rather everyone else just pick a time and stick with it. Preferably DST so I can be 3 hours back of the East Coast and get 3 hours at the end of the work day there for solid working while no on

And it's friendlier to the server you're getting the data from. As a journalist, I have to scrape government sites now and then for datasets they won't hand over via FOIA requests ("It's on our site, that's the

I think (fear) you may be right about a lot of this. My worry is that if enough houses get bought up by large corporations there won't be the political will to let them fail or impose restrictions on them. The time to act seems to be n

Oh I totally agree the lack of housing is a problem. I lived in New York City long enough to figure that one out. Death to NIMBYs. If I were in charge of the world I'd force every apartment building in New York to magically add a coupl

Eventually an exponential-style tax would be too prohibitive for them to buy the nth house and they'd have to tap out, no? Can't pass off those costs forever, eventually it's too much for even the most well-off renter.

Wouldn't the corporation just factor in the credit loss as a cost of doing business and adjust the rent accordingly? Seems better to stop them from owning more than a few properties to begin with, but I suppose both would be cool with

It seems like if it's zoned as a single-family home or residential or whatever and you're not a single family it's hording. I'm willing to be talked out of that. Seems wrong to have to compete with a corporation to buy a

Sure, I figured that there'd be lots of clever tricks around that. I figure you just make the law trace it up to the person at the top and have them as "owner" for exponential purposes.

I've always thought the solution to this was exponentialy increasing property taxes beyond the first property you (or whatever legal entity you create to horde properties) own. I'm dumb, so I'm sure there are reasons this won

Why would it have to be a bland voice-over? It's an email he sent to a friend. Have the friend read it. I imagine the friend would become emotional. That's far more riveting than a computer recreation, no?

For a journalist the answer is simple: Finding sources. Many of us have accounts solely to find an expert in a field or a person within a company to talk to. Why anyone else uses it I have no idea.

Reuters experimented with this the last midterm, but did not for this general election. The AP is generally the source most major news outlets use in the US. It's a very difficult operation, with state-by-state rules and some precincts
