Not sure what the pricing will be like, but AMD is aiming to release their Cortex A57 based CPUs in 2014[1]. [1] http://techreport.com/news/25338/new-amd-embedded-roadmap-sh...

I believe "interactive content" is the key difference. I.e. non-static pages served via CGI.

I'd assume that target dummies are usually airframes that are either outdated (an A or B model when we're at D, E, F, G etc) or past their useful (human operated) life, i.e. too many hours, damaged, cracks are forming, etc.

I've suggested MacBooks to Windows users as solid, if expensive, Windows machines. The ones that went for it have been happy with the setup.

I signed up on my phone and was notified by my iPad that another device had been added to my account. Seems to be a working implementation.

Could a profile option be added to toggle on/off the availability of the downvote button? I browse HN on my phone a lot and am always a little paranoid that I'll hit the downvote arrow rather than the up-vote arrow due to the inac

Another commenter mentioned the police's vehicles get flipped by rowdy sports crowds. The vehicle is probably surplus from the Iraq wind down. Some of LAPD's helicopter fleet is, apparently, military surplus. I would think that ev

My understanding from some of my Iraq war veteran friends is that Humvees lack adequate undercarriage armor and they aren't designed for/can't be properly modified to carry the proper armor. There are newer ones with beefed u

Agreed. Additionally, it's thematically popular that when part of the US military becomes the bad guy, it's usually limited to "those guys" and not the entirety of the Military. Typically "those guys" comes in

Apologies in advance, this will be part reply to your comment, part reply to the Cracked articles, and part rambling: Seconded. I was very poor twice in my life. First while growing up, and then for a few years after the downturn (19-23 yea

Not sure about that either. When I was in middle school Mountain Dew was said to do exactly that. I think parents and teachers just wanted kids to stay away from sugary drinks. My friends kept drinking it anyways. http://www.snop

I like this a lot, but unfortunately going to various news sites (NY Times, Slashdot, etc) it seems like the bookmarklet failed or complained it wasn't designed for the home page (in cases where it wasn't a home page).

If we allow Android/Linux as a member of "Linux on the Desktop" I whole heartedly agree. I'm not sold on the GNU/Linux variant. System 76 does a great job of making "just works" Linux hardware but they&#x2

I disagree. I doubt purchasing Nokia's phone business would make PC vendors any more worried than Surface/Surface Pro did. Windows is still king of the desktop and unless Android becomes a desktop OS or Apple starts licensing OS X

Any reason why you can't use iTerm 2. Honestly I can't see any reason to use the built in terminal when iTerm2 is so good. Also nice is the TMUX integration.
