Get a new cable, can also try headset type cable with converter. Sometimes they're not the right size and then you get connection problems.

Oh, that is expensive. Here in northern sweden I pay $0.08 per kWh. However you guys plastered all your houses with solar panels a few years ago so I guess that helps a lot to keep the cost down by not needing to buy so much.

Around here we have a custom of letting your kid have a nap in the baby wagon outdoors, even in winter. I guess people started using baby monitors for that by now. When I was small, mum just left a window a bit open (1970-ish Sweden). This

When I feel a bit to much about a subject I open notepad and write the comment there and then just close the window if it feels inappropriate. This way there is no risk that I accidentally post it but it still feels like I got to say what I

And before you replace it you just take it out, shake it a bit and put it back in again for another 200 pages. Repeat until it starts giving you missing lines on the pages. This can be going on for many cycles. I just plopped in my spare th

The first tip I got from an older fellow computer nerd at the first company I worked at was: When customer asks for printer, suggest brother for laser and canon or epson for inkjet. So far I'm very happy I listened. The Brothers just w

Just buy a Brother printer. Mine is probably more than 15 years and runs very cheap and no failures. Haven't even changed drum yet. 3rd-party toners very cheap and can be easily found online.

When I was a kid (35+ years ago) we used to buy tomatoes from a greenhouse locally. They had some boxes on the back with second sorting greens and a box for money. We grabbed 3-4 bags full of tomatoes, left the money and by the time we were

It's more like doing ROT13 and ROT12 to strengthen the encryption. To decrypt you just need to do ROT1, not ROT-12 followed by ROT-13.

You can also use the + for email adress, my.name+facebook@domain.com. No need to register another mail adress for each service. It can lead to problems logging in though, not everyone knows that + is a legal character in mail adresses.

It's a bit messier than that though. When spoken in English, Finland is often included in the term. However everyone here knows it's not realy. We instead use "Nordic countries" to include Finland and Greenland.

You also have to watch out for the powersupply of the laptop. Some companies give you a 70-90 W even though your computer needs 120 W at high load, counting on the battery giving the extra juice for the short bursts. If you do long processo
