Good to see I'm not the only one who uses assorted stackables for an impromptu standing desk.

That's good to hear. During my internship at Google this past summer, I mentioned to the university outreach folks that they should work with schools to emphasize Android in coursework. It'd be nice to have some enthusiasm coming downstream

One thing I'd like to see is Android have more of a presence in universities. It'd give CS students useful exposure to mobile development and allow them to put all of the Java that gets crammed down their throats to good use.

Seconded, at least for my Chase accounts. Credit unions' websites are often much better than your average BigCo bank (ex: https://www.becu.org/ ).

This will be more of a fallback in the event that Google Voice ever drops the ball for me. GVoice's seamless integration into the default calling process on Android devices makes it a much more attractive option than Skype.

What are some outlets that technically-skilled people can partake in to get experience in the "persuasion coursework" he describes? I'm a CS undergrad and dabble in probably half of his list in my downtime, but would like to get more experi

One tip I'd add to the diet section is to drink enough water. I find that always having cold water at arm's reach helps keep my mind fresh and alert. Also, making the switch from coffee to tea can have innumerable benefits to one's energy l

Your Incredible+Froyo experience couldn't be more different from mine. Performance and overall snappiness has increased noticeably after upgrading from Eclair. My battery life hasn't been negatively affected either. If anything, it's improv

Anyone know of a decent biography of Igor Sikorsky? Most of the ones I'm finding on Amazon are either fluff or kids books.

I love going on explorative journeys through Wikipedia, so the app really appeals to me. Definitely a task I wish I did more often. I'd throw down a dollar or two for an app like this, but my platform of choice is Android.

Totally agree with your wife, for the most part. I always cover the exposed LEDs on my various devices before going to bed. However when I'm not trying to sleep, my MBP's pulsing light is mesmerizing.

Was going to mention that myself. I just finished both Down and Out in Paris and London and Keep the Aspidistra Flying. Orwell's commentary on money is definitely worth checking out. A very different glimpse of capitalism than that often se

It feels like this same article could have been published 3 years ago. Most of these (Firefox, Wordpress and maybe VLC and Handbrake aside) have been great apps that no one uses for years.

Is there a bash.org-style site for programmer horror stories? They pop up once in a while on HN, but it would be nice to have a single-service site for these kinds of stories.

In Ive's case, the British accent helps. Hearing him talk about his design decisions is captivating in the same way as David Attenborough narrating nature.

As much as I appreciate Leo and ZenHabits, his content us ultra-cyclical. I understand the efficacy of repetition, but I unsubscribed after the 500th post on "doing less." This post is more of a teaser and linkbait for the rest of his site
