I don't think there are really enough details on the parent comment to judge it either way, but can't you at least see how weird it is that 'Women in STEM' is very accepted but a 'Men in STEM' program would nev

True, but aren't the math (and competitive programming) achievements a bit different? They're specific models heavily RL'd on competition math problems. Obviously still ridiculously impressive, but if you haven't done co

I worked in Scala for a little bit and while it is mostly a fine language there are a couple huge problems; the big two off the top of my head are the return statement (legitimately the most wtf moment I've had learning a language???)

Realistically? No, not at all. The reason there are no toolchains for BASIC is because nobody uses BASIC (because it's not functional in our modern world), not the other way round.

I much prefer Pascal typing because it 1. Allows type inference without a hacky 'auto' workaround like c++ and 2. Is less ambiguous parsing wise. I.e. when you read 'MyClass x', MyClass could be a variable (in which case

When I was first learning coding, git, etc. and had no clue how git worked I downloaded GitHub desktop and used that. It's true that I was much younger and less knowledgeable then so it's possible that's influencing me but ma

From what I've seen the majority of the deaths are either a. intentional or b. really not the trains fault. That's not to say it isn't horrible that it happens, but IMO the solution is train safety awareness (don't stop

I think the line is actually much blurrier than it might seem. Realistically everything is a remix of things people have done before; almost nothing is truly brand new. So why specifically are people allowed to build on humanity's past
