I built and run http://theclunkerjunker.com . It started as an affiliate site I started on a whim one night (Or a few hours, more accurately). Within a year it was pulling in $30k/month with almost no expenses. Eventually th

It says the Chromebook Pixel works. I wonder what it is about the Pixel specifically that allows it to work. I imagine a Linux port isn't that far off, but unfortunately I don't have any windows machines left in my house.

Does anyone out there know of something similar to FastMail (or gmail) that is self hosted ? I've been dying for a fast, modern webmail app that I can host myself, but everything I've tried is just terrible (by comparison).

Some benefits over stationary towers is that you can easily move the balloons based on different things like natural disasters, political unrest or even to just improve bandwidth under heavy load.

I don't have it available yet, but if I had to guess I'd say the primary benefit is the algorithms that sort mail into these categories.

It's called "Spintax". People in the internet marketing business use this all the time. Not just for comment spam, but to generate different versions of entire articles for submission to article directories and what not. This is one of the

I think it's pretty clear that the intention of this tool is to provide alerts/notifications to users. Not sure what all the clamoring like "It doesn't do this" or "It doesn't work exactly like alert() in this way" are all about. Anyway...N

Exactly this. As a full time remote worker, I fear the "monkey-see-monkey-do" fallout that could come of it. Yahoo may not be a "leader" in anything, but their CEO is one of the most respected people in Silicon Valley. When she makes a move

Another problem with this is that tech companies (mostly startups) also fall into this trap where they feel like if they're not using the absolute latest and greatest frameworks they cannot be successful. This leads them to only hire develo

This is really awesome, and thanks for introducing me to Postmark, it looks like exactly what I need for my current project.

The top photo looks kind of silly on resolutions above 1440, but otherwise it's very nice.

I've been dying for something like this. My ideal client is basically a clone of gmail, but one that connects through my local internet connection. I know gmail can do POP and IMAP, but it cannot connect to my workplace VPN. RoundCube defin

Craigslist needs to be stopped. This is the third incredibly useful service I've seen shutdown in as many weeks. I was heartbroken when Carsabi had to stop indexing Craigslist a couple weeks ago.

Thanks for sharing! I'm just about to start a full-remote schedule at the job I've had for 7 years. I'm extremely nervous about my future with the company. I work for a big, older tech company where remote working is an afterthought, not in

This is really cool. Just set up a message to my wife when I leave work. "I'm heading home from work. Based on traffic data, it should take me XX minutes to travel XX miles". Took about 10 minutes to write thanks to some good examples in th

Love it! Super addicting. My only complaint with these types of games is that I always feel like people are cheating. But at least it makes me feel better about how bad I am at these word games ;)

I just wish DDG could implement autocomplete/search suggestions. It's probably silly, but I've become as accustomed to typing a few letters into Google and it knowing exactly what I'm looking for as I have to tab complete in a unix terminal
