> AFAIK they were the first to offer refunds Not out of any manual action on their part. All refunds steam offered were 100% in line with their policies from before the game was released.

The automated and entirely machine-driven refunds will reject you for too much playtime, but after that rejection you go further and get it to a human and they'll refund you.

I'm working on a game with my own GL engine, and i found locally even <5ms jitter is noticable, if only because the jitter occasionally causes a "frame time overflow", leading to a skipped frame or a frame being displayed

Even worse, as the article points out: This is a one-time thing. They'll do it again in the future, only that time with a warning in the EULA or something like that.

Just give up on ink. Laser printers are much better in every regard, and are only bought less because they can't be pushed out the door for less than a restaurant bill.

That just weeds out the questions that would make SO look obviously bad. It does nothing to affect the quality of answers that look ok, but are actually problematic. And in those cases "spirit of poster" always trumps correctness.

Just load it with javascript disabled. You may need to find a sane browser for that. Opera 12 does that job fine for me.

That is honestly a completely different kind of answer, that imo is perfectly fine. Although, it should come as a comment first, not an answer, but deserves promotion to answer if no further info is given. The difference between your phrasi

I ran into the same problem myself recently. Only in my case the original poster didn't agree with the edit either, since the wording was "obvious to him". He recommended i propose an edit and let mods decide (failed twice al

All the "works for me" answers like yours and the articles are just another example of what's wrong with SO. I was tempted to qualify this more, but honestly, if you can't see why "works for me" is one of the w

You could at the very least make it your mission statement to provide correct answers, and remind all of your moderators of this, instead of having them maintain the "spirit of the poster" on answers that are wrong and on locked

Absolutely this. I ran into the issue today where somebody had posted an ambiguous answer. Mods rejected edits to clarify, the user themselves said "it's not ambiguous to me", and the question itself is locked.

With the group policy editor you can disable the automatic updates on pro and up. The UI won't change, but the setting will take effect.

The problem is, DDG is not a search engine . It is a UI on top of other search engines . (Yes, you may say it has DuckDuckBot, but ask around people who run websites if they've ever seen a hit from it.)
