So don't have it sitting in an exchange? Try to educate oneself a little on DeFi? Also there are blockchain with gas fees that cost fractions of a penny.

It does operate without those systems just fine. But even if we include those exchanges, how much energy do they spend, and how many people work in that sphere? I don't know the number, but there are not more than a hundred big crypto

You missed the part where I said that this is not about electricity but man hours. Those office buildings are filled with people whose whole lives are to be spent managing these traditional finance institutions. That wastes much more energy
