It’s nice, but the work to get to 3.0 almost seems glacial now. We’ve been on 2.5 since it feels forever and it’s now showing its age… I was rather hoping this post was announcing 3.0 - sadly no.

I’m not claiming any straw man or whataboutisms. I’m simply stating that these are not hills I feel I need to die on. One has to have trust. I trust JB just a tish bit more than MS. I mentioned Apple to show another example of how dog-awful

Unless I’m missing something, there were 3 issues related to this plugin: 1) The inability to totally remove this core plugin. 2) This core plugin seemed to be reenabling itself after it was disabled. 3) A concern about data being exfiltrat

In theory it doesn’t make sense. In reality way too many people will use it as a weapon when they suspect the cardholder may be transgendered. Source: it happened to me when I first started transitioning.

Bullcrap you can. Once my hormones kicked in I was able to blend in so well that some of my friends didn’t believe me when I said I was trans. And I got that confirmed from a third party who is honest beyond a fault. And there’s a world of

Yes, it’s a serious issue. Eons ago when I first started to transition I was prevented from making a purchase once because my card didn’t match my female me. The clerk then seemingly took delight in increasing the volume of their voice when

Oh goody, another fad. That’s all we need… Whatever happened to just designing straightforward clear UIs with clear functionality that doesn’t pretend to be something completely different?

That changed years ago. Most developers now see a 15% hit, only going to 30% once they’ve hit certain thresholds.

This is the original message you replied to: ‘Apple has made it clear that they won't bring iMessage to Android.’ This was your reply: ‘Apple might disagree.’ and you then proceeded to supply a link to 9to5Mac about Apple interfaces iM

No, it’s not even close. RCS is a totally different messaging protocol. It’s pretty much to iMessage as iMessage is to SMS.

That’s not iMessage. RCS is a replacement for SMS.

There’s barely a nuance between “free” and “complementary”. Both are essentially the same thing. https://thecontentauthority.com/blog/free-vs-complimentary

What’s wrong with the venerable WinSock library? I remember that being a thing way back in the 1990s when I used a 3rd party driver called Trumpet.

What? I never said that. The Apple iMessage APNS is proprietary - and Apple explicitly state it cannot be used without their blessing. In addition Apple have the right to terminate any Apple IDs that they feel are being used to circumnaviga

No. Windows is not free - the manufacturer prepays for the license and it’s built in to your hardware purchase price. Look up “windows oem” using your favorite search engine.

What? Where did I claim that? You are the one asking if iMessage is “free” (as in beer) software. It comes with iOS - the license of which is provided free of charge for each user to run on their respective device. I never made any statemen

This sounds like “victim” blaming. Amazon, like other big companies, hired people during Covid telling them it was a fully remote job. Now these companies are telling the same employees to now come into the office. Why blame employees here?
