Are these the same psychological evaluations that psychiatrists do to determine if somebody can be involuntarily committed? Because that sounds like an even bigger problem than this being abused in the criminal justice system. At least in t

How come this type of thing isn't highly discouraged? As in, law enforcement or the justice system pressuring people into this should be a taboo with serious punishments. We have laws around entrapment, so how come this is okay?

Well, the difference is that extorting someone is a lot more illegal in a lot more countries than running not farms. Extradition usually requires that whatever a person is accused of is a crime in both countries, which makes extortion a big

It's not about who patrols the Strait of Hormuz. It's about who and what backs them up. If the Iranians decide to sink the frigates there (to do their blockade) then they can expect a visit from a US carrier group. If there is no

One very important thing to counter hate is to try to have everyone in society involved in society somehow. People are much less willing to wish ill on others in society (or society itself) if they feel that they are part of it. A lot of st

I think it isn't so easy to say that what the US military does is a waste of your money. A lot of US foreign policy is about "free trade" that's beneficial to the US. If you were to cut off the US military then you'
