While I should attempt to create objective and rational explanation for everything, I think most people recognize I'd be hubristic to assume I can do this in all cases. Whether or not a belief system has to come into play is perhaps su

Few of these instill purpose and influence behavior of a person in the same way that religion does. You might disagree, but I would argue that the virtues extolled by the vast majority of religious organizations are good ideals to be strivi

What's the alternative? There seem to be obvious negative externalities which the promulgating industries seem disincentivized to address...seems to be a legitimate basis for government intervention. *Not necessarily agreeing with the

I generally agree. This is why I think the home construction analogy for software might do more harm than it does good. If you go with the building construction analogy then the UX is just as much the architecture as it is the paint, floor

Consider using straight up Blazor which lets you take advantage of HTML/CSS but use C# in the browser. I find Blazor to be incredibly productive. I built a rough [1] implementation of the board game “Aquire” to play with friends in ab

Seems to me that technical debt needs to be dealt with as a function of the revenue the company/product is bringing in. The wisdom comes from timing the investment so it’s not destroying the “mature” product due to entropy or stranglin

Design your own database/no-code solutions ironically seem to appeal more to software developers than it does to end-users. Devs and tech-savvy-power-users are looking for ways to automate app development. End-users are more likely to

Trying to understand this too. Looks like an “evolution” (rebrand?) of Xamarin.Forms. Although potentially (hopefully?) a way to support rendering engines other than native control/widget binding like Xamarin.Forms does today? More lik

Use it quite often and enjoy it. Biggest reason is because I love C#/.net. Only recently been using Xamarin.Forms, which seems to finally be getting to a pretty mature state. They’ve made it a lot easier to jump in/out of Xamarin

Agreed. 1 dimension can represent the impact to an individual user, and the other dimension represents the pervasiveness (frequency) in the user base/market. We have applied the same metric to feature request prioritization. Severity

This definitely flies in the face of what the economist Milton Friedman[1] perceived as our societal values. I personally hope this kind of thinking isn’t the trend. [1] https://youtu.be/km9OCw3f5w4

I’ve also seen the failures in requirement driven software. When engineers receive unfiltered customer requests as requirements or tasks they tend to focus simply on getting that functionality into the software. Most times not understandi

Thanks for the insight, this makes a lot of sense. What about when depth adds complexity and over serves some of your users. Is it worth it at the early stages of development to spend the time keeping the software simple for those users wh

It is an interesting strategy; where others have tried to unify their OS (WinRT/UWP, Honeycomb->Ice cream sandwich). Honeycomb and WinRT were viewed as fragmentation, I think somehow it won’t be viewed the same with iPadOS

Xamarin.Forms has to manage a lot of friction interfacing with the native UI controls. It's both an advantage and a disadvantage to it's approach. It has to conform to the common denominator of the native platforms, but gets to

Can you know whether or not a particle is currently entangled? With observation of only 1 of the entangled particles? Say you had millions of entangled particles, you ship their companions to the other end of the galaxy. You now have a mill
