My bad, I meant redirecting the stderr output to /dev/null. I lost my initial message and typed a short version too quickly :( For a contrieved (but the first I can think of) dd if=/dev/abc status=progress 3>&#

You can also distribute different torrents, it's easier. Or multiple IPFS CIDs. I think you can have a "directory" (CID) that contains multiple CIDs, and only need the content hashes to build it. You can also publish multiple

A bit disapointing. It's mostly about parsing, not usage. Half of the post is about handling UTF-8, which AFAIK both LuaTeX and XeTeX (you really shoulduse either) do natively.

Hmm, you can just create a torrent out of it. Either as a single file (impractical, but you can just avoid downloading it fully), or chunk it into multiple files. You don't even need to store it all at once on your computer: stream it

I came across this a few minutes ago. Yunohost is an all-in-one Linux distribution designed to help users self-host services without a huge amount of sysadmin knowledge. Looks like google is flagging some users' websites as malicious w

I usually fix 3. by redirecting the intermediate program to stderr before piping to pv. My main use-case is netcat (nc). As an aside, I prefer the BSD version, which I find is superior (IPv6 support, SOCKS, etc). "GNU Netcat" isn&

Also you probably shouldn't use scp. rsync and sftp have mostly the same semantics. rsync --bwlimit=2OOK bigfile.iso name@server.org:path/in/destination sftp -l 200 bigfile.iso name@server.org:path/in/dest

It's a bit annoying that this card doesn't come with an in-situ programmer to update the NOR FLASH. Other than this, I'm pretty excited about it. I can't wait for it to be cheaply be available from Aliexpress or other. I

You can also "fix" it by ignoring that memory area by adjusting kernel parameters. That's how I do it on one of my old laptops. I wonder if the kernel couldn't perform ECC itself at a small performance cost by storing CR

Get a VPN from a reputable ISP, or to a VPS. As a bonus, it's much easier to host mail as you can customize reverse DNS. You also get a "clean" IP, IPv6 regardless of your current ISP, and a static IP. It's also possible

Yet another reason to have a quick test suite and build pipeline? I feel like having to wait for more than a few seconds to get the reward would remove the instant gratification our brains crave. That's an interesting setup. I could ce

Right, and we saw some examples of Sqlite+torrent in the past; those databases could be made editable more easily (although it would be nice to de-duplicate unchanged parts, not sure if sqlite DBs can be chunked). Not necessarily sqlite, th

You are lucky... And/or just don't have a large sample size. Of the multiple hundred CDs I've burned back in the day, some failed in just a few months. Admittedly, it was in tropical (high-humidity, high-temperature) settings

Well, webtorrents are just regular torrents using websockets as a transport mechanism, since you can't just have raw sockets from a browser sandbox. If it supported these as a transport mechanism, transmission would be able to communic

I'm really excited to see support for torrents v2. If only because transmission will stop chocking on hybrid torrent files, which should lead to more adoption across the board. I wish transmission supported mutable torrents (BEP46). It

Gate length is already determined by tunneling current, you can't really go below 20 nm on Si. Width is determined by the current density you want, and can be reduced with better electrostatic control (FDSOI, FinFET, GAA...)
