And even this comparison is lenient towards the ICE. That one gallon of gas doesn’t just poof into existence into the gas tank of the car, there’s a certain kWh requirement of energy to go from not having that gallon of gas, to having it. O

You can produce hydrogen in two main ways. 1) Electrolisys where efficiency is around 70-80 %. 2) Via natural gas which is less efficient and also requires a fossile source. Add now on top of this additional energy losses due to transportat

Hydrogen fueled cars waste more energy than pure BEVs and PHEVs. I don't think they are a good idea. Hydrogen could be a decent storage option for excess wind and solar, but there are probably more cost-effective solutions on the horiz

A low sample size does not mean that the result of a study are not valid. No researcher would get funding for a large study right off the bat when looking for something novel. You always start with a prospective study of a small sample size

I used to be similar, but now when we have a child and both me and my wife work, things change. Life is much easier to handle when we have an idea of what to eat for the week and a shared shopping list. This way, as the chaos of life occurs

I have the same experience with a handheld garmin from like 20 years ago. This was in Finland while boating, the gps suddenly decided we were going around 700mph heading north north west. It lasted for around 30min or so before it returned

Fast charging is really only relevant in two scenarios: 1) You want to travel further in one go than the cars range 2) You do not have access to at home charging For those who can charge at home, fast charging is really only needed for long

I don't see the charge rate as a problem. [The new MCS standard for trucks will charge at around 3 MW]( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Megawatt_Charging_System ), so clearly it is entirely possible to deal with even

Reddit is not a platform for self-promotion, and moderators there are very keen for it not becoming such a place. Each subreddit is moderated differently by completely volunteer moderators. How things are in one subreddit does not really te

I guess I am old but the assumption I live by is that if power is suddenly cut from a computer - no matter desktop or laptop - it can damage the FS and/or cause data loss. For any mission critical stuff, I have it behind a UPS.

Im not so sure it's always best to optimize for absolute performance, how you should code a solution to a specific problem is always dependant on it's context IMO. I work on a lot of smaller IT projects for SME's, internal to
