Have you checked the display cable connections? I have a x240 and the connection to the panel has come loose twice due to bumping/dropping the machine. And I do mean the connection on the panel, not on the motherboard.

Whoa, thanks. However, that link is totally in the wrong place, no wonder I could not find it. I just assumed there was no such link/button and always angrily removed the 'm.' from each URL.

For iPad oh boy they sure added new niceties such as: - Not being able to click a tab unless you drag it to the center of the tab bar - Make a "drag a link/anchor into a new window" feature; except it triggers way too easily

Demos sure are important, however I would advocate using videos (.mp4) instead of GIF. That way you can pause and seek the video, to get better idea what's going on. So many times I've come across demo GIFs/animated shell ses

Related note: with systemd you are probably better off using its OnCalendar facilities. There is even a tool called 'systemd-analyze', which can be used for verifying the correctness of your OnCalendar timespec: $ systemd-an

Heh. If I plug an iPad charger in the "wrong way" (symmetric EU socket), I observe massive interference/hum via the 3.5mm audio jack. The hum disappears if I rotate the plug, or touch the metal backplate of the iPad.

I decided to try out Haiku last week. I was positively surprised how fast the whole process was. Installer loaded, system was installed and rebooted in about 20-30 seconds (not accounting for human I/O latency). And this was in a VM wi

I just tested this and it seems to work by default on Linux but not on FreeBSD. On both the address is configured as 127.0.0.1/8, i.e the whole block. Go figure. This discussion [1] sheds some light on the matter, but does not fully ex

If you run tests through the loopback interface, you should be able to use any of the 127.0.0.0/8 addresses, instead of 127.0.0.1 (a.k.a ”localhost”). Each address has its independent port space, so you would avoid collisions/cont
